A rose joint connector - that I could have got in the UK

 to replace this pressed steel linkage connector on the gearbox

But I'd already pressed the 'buy' button when I realised it wasn't buying the whole shifter linkage!

 cut 4.5" off the right side of the bars - fuck...

 deburr the weld inside bars...

 drill some holes - careful now ...

 hmmmm... fuck, too late...

 weld them up...

 now did I put it in the right way up? - its too late now you tosser...

just don't drop the bike and bend those bars cos that internal throttle is a permanent feature
