not bates or period...

 sometimes two much is enough...
the idea was to buy a cheap headlamp for the time being and get on the road, but Christine was not happy and so ended up with two contemporary lights in a 70's stylie - and an empty wallet.

in which some things are achieved

a third mounting point for the oil tank
as only the two are liable to crack

bracket by 'moi'
utilizing the drain plug hole for fixing (???)
a confusing pic as the crappy copper oil feed is still there
unusually made in the usa, £30 and you have to assemble yourself...
three foot of 8.8 cable, thats custom fella.
None of that pansy cloth covered stuff that arcs when it rains...
 spaghetti junction...
thank fuck I junked the copper tube...

The sun has just come out between rain clouds and its stopped raining this afternoon, hope anyone who did go to the Chop and Rod in Surrey had a chance to dry out, what a pisser.

two steps forward...

new clutch handlebar mount - and featuring my old lever - is on...
the 'copper oil pipe idea' is canned - looks good but poorly executed - that bloody bending tool (and me)...
and rubber is good here too, covers the nasty chrome billet nouveau crap

electricery

from crowes customs usa, ignition kit evidently made for ultima by dyna
the old coil will have to go...
 christine's new pacemaker...
Hmm, going to need a white sticker Rowan, haha

Although Ultima's parts are supposedly USA made (Mexico) the coil was in a box that said made in China.

the metalman stall, got some brass...
 winter project sir...
my would be winter project, but I didn't have £85
no price for this...
if you have to ask...
you probably can't afford it...
this is more like it...
so how does this man turn left, a periscope perhaps...
oh yeah, wholy holy...

not another bobber...

Matt Barnes deservedly got a feature for his show standard sporty
in 100% Biker.
A fenland frame and dry build
He's had a few hiccups but he's made it his bike.
Refreshingly funky fat tyred lowrider sporty
Bloody gorgeous ~ from Leicestershire

in which I learn that you can teach an old dog a new trick

Having almost destroyed the caliper piston trying to remove it by heating the caliper in the kitchen workshop oven and then hitting it with a hammer my fucking patience blew.

I even took it to kempton bike jumble with me, stick the caliper in a lathe was one opinion (big chuck!), my mate Paul suggested heating just the piston or freezing just the piston...

This morning I 'googled' it and voila, theres the airline option (seemed a bit dangerous and I don't have an airline) and this the 'grease gun option'
I found my old gun and a flexible connection which made it a lot easier and screwed into the banjo bolt hole.
And fuck me it worked
