was called off, but we got a Tee anyways!

New Rotor with rear earth magnets fitted, won't start

Next day fit new set of points and

Bingo fires on three kicks

Try Stop and get it to start again, so go and get helmet etc.

20 mins later wheel outside and doesn't start, so try WOT

and off we go, 20 miles runs great, so we stop for fuel on the way back, just to see if she'll start.

Keeps me waiting 20 mins on red hot motor, take out the plugs, always dry , clean refit and bang we're off home.

So adjust the points next day - a tight 15thou, and she fires up.

Great, get my gear and she will not start.  Change plugs (18 thou gap)

starts after three kicks and wheel her out on street.

This time we do 50 miles, she goes like a Raped Ape!

I can't say how good it felt, acceleration is amazing.

BUT

The next day Sunday, will not start, no pops and no bangs

and nothing since.

so later find the mudguard has a stress crack on the middle mount 

the new avon classic tyre is bigger than the avon cobra 

by 32mm Diameter!

Second kick start and on the way home 

A very wet weekend, I put a plastic bag over my air cleaner, others didn't and had a bit of a time starting when some went on Sat. The Bitch purred along there we went the scenic route 350 miles in 8 hours and thrashed it back on the sunday via motorway short route all the way in 7 and we stayed Dry!

The short Version:

It starts and then will not start 

Week 1 Fires up but will not keep running

will not start again.

Change condenser, timing etc.

Fired up again went down the road

Then will not fire at all

After it fired up in the video, went for short ride, mis-fires and return

Will not start again

I later discover a loose pushrod. 

still will not start and take it off

Two weeks later the old fool bought a racing coil from joe Hunt and re-fitted the mag

Fired up 2nd kick, (after 3 kicks I hadn't switched on) does not like choke.

Go for 20 mile ride. She goes like a rocket, what blast.

Next day will not fire up

Something it has now done 3 times- fires up and then will not start again

So the old fool thinks…. hmmm

I'm going to fit the old starter motor

So one week later it fires up 

and stops

And will not start again

 A little addition for my co pilot for those short trips

 made a new bracket and utilised an old exhaust bracket

 Two up to Friston, a little event on the village green 

My co- pilot didn't like the way her feet tried to slide off the pegs so a little mod required.

So all this time , apart from the ultima electronic iggy piece of shit, the alternator was not giving a full charge and then no charge after it came loose.

I had two weeks notice before the chopper bash of imminent probs, but as she would not start without a new condenser, thought I had sorted it.

Going to trawl through my blog list and delete some hipster trash - as I seem to miss the ones that matter - people like TC that spend a day making a bracket!
